 Threatened to organize the Children of Isreal against their Roman occupiers  Jesus was onsidered by many Jews at the time to be the long-prophesied successor to King David who would build an army to throw off the grip of Roman rule, though his message was actually one of non-violence and love. He was betrayed by one of his followers who wished to lead a more vigorous assault against the Romans.
 Crucifixion. Later became the inspiration behind a popular religious movement.
