Non-compliance with racist rule.
Because of his membership in the African National Congress and active participation in the struggle against the apartheid system in South Africa, Nelson was jailed from 1963 until 1990.
Jailed from 1963 until 1990. Later became President of South Africa, and won the Nobel Peace Prize.
