1. Without animal foods slowing you down, you've got lots of energy to enjoy gorgeous autumn weather and
the brilliant spectrum of coppers, golds and crimsons. Roller-blade,
hike and bike to your healthy heart's content, as the crisp fall
air fills your lungs.
2. Much traditional fall fare is already vegan or can be easily made so with a little creativity and experimentation.
Of course you can enjoy mugs of hot apple cider, but you can also
indulge in wild rice, stuffed acorn squash, and delicious pumpkin
pie.
3. Fill up trick-or-treaters with miniature-sized vegan candies and chocolate bars. Many companies make special sizes for the
season, so this is a good time to expose little ghosts and goblins
to a healthier (or at least less unhealthy) snack. As an added
bonus, when you feel the urge to indulge your sweet tooth - it
is Hallowe'en after all - you won't wind up feeling like a bloated
old pumpkin.
4. Speaking of pumpkins, if you stick to a vegan diet, you can wear that orange sweater of yours, without making you
look like one.
5. Because of all the potent vitamins and minerals you're taking
in through a plant-based diet, you immune system is bolstered, so
you won't have to miss out on so many gorgeous autumn days with
a cold or flu.
6. By eating a vegan diet, you're less likely to bulk up during cool weather months, so you won't have to spend all spring
taking off those additional pounds.
7. The fall bounty of fantastic fruits and vegetables will taste and smell better to you, because you won't have a
mucus buildup from consuming dairy products.
8. You're less likely to bulk up during the fall and winter, so not as likely to have to take off weight during the spring
and summer.
9. You'll be more alert at school because your body won't be wasting so much energy trying to digest
heavy animal foods.
