When Marla and I first became vegan in 1995, we almost immediately became animal rights activists, and one of our original targets was the fur industry. We have attended dozens of anti-fur events and even organized several of the big Fur Free Friday marches in Chicago. Since we started Vegan Street, we have posted memes celebrating each designer that stopped working with fur, each department store that quit selling it and each city or country that banned its production and sale. We joined hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions of people who stood up the fight this cruel industry
Fur coats that a couple of decades ago were seen as the epitome of high fashion are now regarded with derision and disgust, and the fur industry is seeing just a faint shadow of its former glory.
We are not letting up though, and we won't stop until this cruel practice is completely dead.
