There are a lot fewer bees in butterflies than there used to be, but there are a lot of people all around the world to help bring them back. Hundreds of cities and towns are converting parts of the parks and parkways or even streets and alleys into Pollinator Pathways, attracting millions of butterflies, bees and other beneficial insects. Many thousands of homeowners have joined in by planting pollinator plants and gardens that both liven up and beautify their yards. We replaced most of our backyard with a pollinator garden and a vegetable garden, and now a comparatively barren lawn has been transformed to a vibrant home for bees and butterflies and a beautiful place to relax and enjoy the scenery for us.
