The fossil fuel industries have been doing everything in their power to keep us hooked on their outdated, unhealthy and planet-killing products. Now they are trying to colonize the narrow gulf between the Baja Peninsula and mainland Mexico, which is home to the last few remaining blue whales in the region, and which conservationist Jacques Cousteau referred to as "the aquarium of the world". Fortunately, a growing number of people are no longer willing to allow these captains of industry to set the terms for who controls the world's resources. The natural gas industries have launched three separate programs to colonize the Gulf. The environment law firm Earthjustice has successfully shut down one of these and temporarily stopped the other two through court orders. The Earth supports all of its inhabitants. It doesn't provide special favors to those who wish to desecrate it, and neither should we.
