The United States has exported so much culture to the rest of the world, like Hollywood films, jazz, rock & roll, smartphones and, of course, American junk food. Sadly, this last one is taking its toll the populations who consume it. As incomes rise around the world, millions of young people have access to so many things their parents could only dream of. But junk food, and processed meats in particular, are spiking obesity, type 2 diabetes, cancer and cardiopulmonary disease through developing nations everywhere.
