One of the major sources of the greenhouse gases that are threatening our climate crisis is all the methane produced by the belches and flatulence produced by the world's billion cattle. And now, a bill introduced in Denmark's legislature that is expected to easily pass will tax the country's cattle industry for the damage caused by all of this methane.
This is one of the first major political initiatives aimed at holding the animal agriculture industries responsible for all the vast damage they are inflicting on the planet. Let's hope there are many, many more such initiatives to follow.
