White rice contains 4.3g of protein. "Meaty Rice," the latest scam from the Feed the World tech bros, would increase that protein content by about 8%, which would be a similar protein content to brown rice. Its creators say that Meaty Rice, which would somehow have each grain genetically infused with DNA from cattle after being coated with fish gelatin, will feed impoverished people around the world, who would somehow magically now be able to absorb the cost of this novel product. Never mind that simply augmenting shipments of traditional low tech rice with shipments of lentils or other beans more than double the protein content people would receive. But the common good is never as important to these folks and the wealth and fame they stand to gain.
