Nothing terrifies the animal killing industries and the senators and congresspeople they control than the voices and actions of compassionate people who draw attention to the institutional animal abuse and work to bring some protections to the victims. Ever since Californians voted decisively for Proposition 12, which bans some of the most egregious animal abuses, the industry has violently and continuously attacked it, proposing bill after bill to kill it. Their latest, their Orwellian sounding "Save the Bacon Act," seeks to federally overrule any state law that offers any protections at all to the billions of animals who die to become bacon – or eggs, or butter or burgers.
Public pressure has prevented similar bills from becoming law, and there is a good chance that we can stop this one – if we take action. Call your Representative and demand they side with the lives of the animals and the will of the voters over the greed of the animal killers and vote no on the Save the Bacon Act.
