MAX is the leading local burger chain in Sweden with more than 200 locations. They have traditionally served all meat burgers, but in an effort to lessen their impact on climate change, they have been serving more plant-based products, all of them at the same price and same options as their animal-based offerings. As a result, nearly half of their sales are vegan products. They have had a particular hit with their Unicorn Burger which comes wrapped in paper with an iconic horn sticking out the front.
Similarly, ISS, a food service company serving hundreds of schools across the UK has quietly shifted many of their most foods like lasagna and spaghetti with plant-based offerings that are healthier, better for the environment and cost less to produce.
And IKEA, which serves more that 665 million meals in their stores each year have added a plant-based version of their world's most famous Swedish meatballs to their menu and they serve millions of them each year.
Most people are culturally conditioned to eat meat, but with some delicious options and a little creativity, they can be persuaded to make better choices.
