After many studies concluded that switching toward plant-centric diets is a very useful way to reduce incidences of cardiovascular disease, diabetes and other blood diseases, there have been a number of programs popping up across the US where doctors are offering free deliveries of fresh vegetables and fruits and preparation instruction to high risk patients. Many people who have subscribed to the program have been able to reduce their reliance on medication and even reverse their symptoms, and losing weight and improving their quality of life in the process. So far, the programs are only serving small numbers of people. We need to be encouraging and seeking funding for more programs like these.
