Estonia was, at one time, a major fur-exporting nation, but during the last decade there have been several bills before the Legislature to ban the industry. Now the fur industry has been weakened by rapidly declining demand and they lacked the resources and will to really fight back, and now the few remaining fur farms need to begin the process of shutting down. Estonia now joins Austria, Bosnia, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Northern Ireland, Republic of Macedonia, Serbia, Slovenia, and the U.K which have all already banned fur.
