Okay, yeah, this is not always the most comfortable conversation to have, but over the years, I’ve heard from people complain of, um, gastric distress after going vegan. Consuming more fiber and legumes can make your plumbing a little more gurgly than you’re used to or even make you feel backed up and bloated for a while. Give your system a chance to work out the kinks as it adjusts. This will not last forever and ultimately plant foods offer great support for healthy digestion. Many people have never been regular and even though it can be weird to experience something new within your body, a whole foods diet could be very good for your digestive system. These two articles should be helpful for those with digestive difficulties and this may help you learn how to improve your digestion of beans. Most of all, be patient, stay calm, eat prebiotics, take probiotics, drink lots of water and develop a sense of humor about it. Gurgle, gurgle, flush.
