A confession: I have never had that mainstay of the shopping mall, an Orange Julius. I gather, though, that it is a creamy, sweet citrus confection and perfect for a treat. If you are looking for something closer to the original, this isn’t it, because it is less sweet, more tangy and thicker (because, hey, it’s a smoothie) but if you are in the mood for something creamsicle-esque without a ton of sugar, I think you’ve hit the jackpot. 1 banana, peeled and frozen (frozen isn’t necessary but will make a creamier, richer drink) ½ cup plain vegan yogurt or plain vegan Greek yogurt ½ cup plain non-dairy milk ½ cup orange juice 1 peeled orange 1 - 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup or date syrup 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract 1 cup ice
