South Korea has finally outlawed the slaughter of dogs and the sale of their flesh (the dog meat industry will be given three years to wind down).
It's important to note that dog meat has been falling out of favor with South Koreans for decades, and only 8% of them (mostly older and elderly people) have eaten it in the last year. This legislation simply hastens the end of a long-dying practice.
I hope I live to see the day when the US passes a similar law to ban the slaughter and sale of cows, pigs, chickens and all other animals.
