Dairy milk sales are falling and in many stores, half of their shelf space has been turned over to plant-based milks. Dairy cheese and butter sales haven't taken as big of a hit, but sales dairy-free cheese, butter, sour cream, cream cheese and the like are skyrocketing as more consumers seek healthier and more animal-and-planet-friendly options. There are vast warehouses filled with unsold dairy products because the US government will keep buying all the product that the dairies would never sell otherwise. Meanwhile, more and more people are questioning why their taxes should keep propping up such a destructive and dying industry.
