Maine has now become the sixth US state to ban animal testing, following California, Nevada, Illinois, Maryland and Virginia (Hawaii's legislature has also passed a bill, but it is still awaiting the governor's signature, which he has pledged to offer). The cosmetic industry is really starting to get the message, and most companies have either stopped animal testing or are somewhere along the process of doing so.
