To the delight of just about everyone except cattle ranchers (who can't bear the idea that their precious slaves should have to share the land with anyone who isn't producing income for them), wolves are finally returning to Colorado after having been violently driven to extinction nearly 80 years ago.
As apex predators, wolves are an essential part of the ecosystem that thrives on balance between all the species. Nature has perfected this balance over millions of years, and it was an ideal system before cattle ranchers and their enablers in the government decided to destroy it. But now the ecosystem has a real chance of coming back. Sadly, the cattle are still there (particularly sad for the cattle themselves), but at least Colorado will have wolves again.
