Behind every glass of dairy-based milk, bite of cheese or scoop of ice cream is loss, grief, cruelty, violence and suffering. It cannot be bypassed. Udders do not produce milk on their own: there is always a baby removed from the picture. Mothers are forcibly impregnated and their babies are stolen from them, creating an irreparable, permanent loss. The mothers are continually re-impregnated until they produce less and then they are turned into cheap meat; their babies follow their same fate if female. The males are usually either killed at birth or directed to the veal market.
