The other day, I was in the mood for baking and the thought of making some cookies just for our little Ruby-Mae popped in my mind. These are quick and easy to make and packed with great ingredients for fueling your best friend optimally. She loves these and I hope your doggy does as well.
1½ cups oat, chickpea or preferred flour ½ cup quick-cooking oats ¼ cup natural peanut butter, no sugar or oils added ¼ cup pumpkin or sweet potato purée, no sugar added 1 ripe banana, mashed 1 tablespoon ground flaxseed ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon 1 pinch salt ¼ cup - ½ cup water, as needed
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Put all the ingredients in a large bowl except for the water. Mix with a spoon by hand until it is combined. Add the water until a dough forms. It will be lumpy and sticky.
Roll heaping tablespoons between your hands and place on the prepared baking sheet. (Again, it will be sticky – that’s okay!) Continue until all is rolled. Bake for 22 minutes. Allow to cool. Once cool, store in an airtight container for up to a week or freeze.
