Vegan kids generally eat a lot more fruits, vegetables, whole grains and legumes than nonvegan kids. They typically get more vitamins, minerals and fiber and they eat no cholesterol. They also don't have to live with the contradiction of trying to be compassionate and caring while participating in the slaughter of innocent animals. And they quickly learn to stand by and defend their values, and by standing apart from the mainstream, they learn to use critical thinking to develop a sense of independence. We know a lot of vegan kids and adults who are vegan from birth, and they are all amazing people.
